Nominations for a position on the Club Committee 2025/2026 financial year
Under the Club's constitution, the committee of the club comprises:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer (urgently required)
Up to 8 General committee members (with no more than 2 from any one section)
Administration of a club the size of RRGC (currently approximately 350 members and growing) falls heavily onto the committee (also known as Officers of the Club). While leadership is provided by the President, and general administration is led by the Secretary, the General committee members have an important role to play in spreading the administrative workload of the club.
The panel to the right provides links to the role descriptions for each position and a nomination form if you or another member would like to consider or nominate for a committee role.
Who can stand for election as an Officer
- Any Financial member of the Club may stand for election as an Officer of the Club. To be included in the election of Officers section of a General Meeting, a Financial Member must:
- Complete a nomination form available from the Memebsr section of teh Club website setting out the Members personal information, and have it signed by the Member confirming they are accepting nomination.
- Complete and sign a certificate, that will be retained in the Club records, consenting to being an Officer and certifying that the Member is not disqualified from being elected or otherwise holding office as an Officer
- Have one Financial Member of the Club sign the nomination form as “nominator” and a second member of the Club sign the form as “Seconder”.
- Hand/email the form, or scan and email the form, to the Secretary before the notified cut-off date for nominations.
- Prepare a short summary of the Members Club/sport experience to be circulated to members so they are aware of the Member and why the Member is standing for an Officer position. The summary sheet will be sent out with the other information that will go to Members who will vote on nominations at the General Meeting.
You don’t have to be on the committee to help
Some members have indicated a willingness to help from time to time on discrete jobs that are delegated from the committee. Examples of this include managing the website, preparing newsletters, recording the history of the club and providing additional man/women power to assist club training officers in training members who are new to shooting.
This latter aspect is anticipated to become a bigger part of our club activities over the next two to three years as we seek to grow the club and engage more with the wider community.
If you cannot commit to around 4hrs a month, every month to working on the club through the committee, let the secretary or president know of your availability, your areas of interest and the time you have available. We will work in with you where we can.
